What is Split PDF?

Split PDF extracts specific pages or page ranges from any PDF and saves them as separate files — no desktop software needed. Upload a multi-page report, contract, or scan, then define which pages you want to keep or extract.

Perfect for pulling out a single chapter, removing confidential pages before sharing, or breaking a large document into smaller pieces for different recipients. Pages are extracted without modification, preserving the original layout, text, and images exactly as they appear in the source PDF.

Common Use Cases

  • Extracting a single chapter from a large report or ebook
  • Removing confidential pages before sharing a document
  • Breaking a large PDF into sections for different teams
  • Extracting specific invoice pages from a combined statement
  • Isolating a single form page for filling and returning

How to Use Split PDF

  1. Upload the PDF file you want to split.
  2. Enter the page numbers or ranges you want to extract (e.g. 1-3, 5, 7-10).
  3. Click Split and download the resulting PDF files.

FAQ

Are my PDF files stored after splitting?

No. Files are processed in memory and immediately discarded after the split files are returned to you.

Can I extract just one page from a PDF?

Yes. Enter a single page number in the custom ranges field. The result is downloaded as a ZIP file containing that one-page PDF.

Can I split into multiple ranges at once?

Yes. You can define multiple page ranges in one go — for example 1-3,5,8-10. Each range becomes a separate PDF inside the downloaded ZIP file.

Will the split files keep the original formatting?

Yes. Splitting does not re-render or modify the pages — the extracted pages are identical to the originals in the source PDF.

Is there a file size limit?

Very large PDFs (100 MB+) may take longer to process. For typical documents up to a few dozen pages, the split completes in seconds.

What format are the split files downloaded in?

If you split into multiple ranges, the files are bundled into a ZIP archive for download. A single page range is downloaded as a plain PDF file.
